Dear Church Family and Friends,
Due to the escalating spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), the First Baptist Church of Greensburg is closed until further notice in compliance with national and state emergency declarations to close all non-essential businesses.
It is, to say the least, a very somber time throughout the world. Yet, in the midst of what could be a very discouraging time, this simply has not stopped our Lord from putting in the hearts of His people a way to stay connected! In fact, quite a few people are using their God-given talents—working behind-the-scenes from their homes toward keeping our church family in touch! To name a few: 1) Rev. Bram’s weekly email and personal messages continue to be updated (a paper copy is sent by US mail to those who do not have email). Rev. Bram consistently keeps in close contact with our members, friends and shut-ins by phone and email, ministering to their needs, and continues to be in communication with our Moderator, Bill Davis. 2) The Worship Board and our gifted technical crew are diligently working on the church website and facebook – just click on GOOD NEWS TODAY
to access one of Rev. Bram’s sermons for this week. 3) The church prayer chain stands ready to receive your requests by calling Ann Bruce at 724-837-8419. 4) Many members and friends are calling each other regularly to be sure they are doing well and offer to shop for any needs someone may have. Others send encouraging and uplifting notes by email! 5) Thanks to Carol Clayton and Eleanor Keenan, we have a vital mission project in the works that involves 11 ladies who have jumped on board to sew much- needed face masks for Healthcare workers and Nursing Care Facilities. 6) Our Treasurer may not be visible but the bills are coming in and rest assured Shirley Blackall is working. 8) Our Financial Secretary, Jill Albright is busy making certain all contributions are counted! Thank you for your continued support of the church!
7) Doris is here just about every day to “keep a watchful eye” on the Lord’s house, it’s what she does and faithful she is.
If anyone has updates or wishes to add something to these weekly messages, we encourage you to send scripture, a poem – don’t forget to send in your prayer requests – or something that you would like to share. Please send it no later than Tuesday’s at noon to the church by email to email@example.com
, by phone 724-837-1080 or text at 724-689-9107. Emails, phone messages and text messages will continue to be addressed while our church is closed. All US mail sent to the church continues to be picked up and distributed as always. Thank you so much and may God keep us all under His protective cover during this time of uncertainty. Our HOPE is in Jesus!
In His Service,
Church Office Administrator
