BAPTIST PRINCIPLES

Placing our faith wholly in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, the members of this Church believe in the historic teachings and practices of Baptists and in the great principles of which they continue to stand, namely:

  • The preeminence of Christ as divine Lord and Savior.
  • The supreme authority of the Bible as the all-sufficient rule of faith and practice
  • The right of religious freedom.
  • The separation of church and state.
  • A church membership composed of believers only.
  • The symbolic ordinances of believers’ baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper, in obedience to the commands of Christ.
  • The independence of the local church and its interdependence with fellow Baptist churches and other Christian bodies.
  • A democratic (autonomous) style of church leadership, assuring equal rights for all and special privileges to none.
  • The spiritual unity of all believers for which Jesus so earnestly prayed.
  • A local and world-wide program of evangelism and missionary service in obedience to the great commission of Jesus.
